How We Hire

1. Application

Look through our current job openings and if you are interested, take the first step to tell us all about yourself.

If nothing fits (for now!), you’re more than welcome to drop your CV in the General Application category.

2. Chat with our talent acquisition team and the hiring manager

You’ll typically have one or two quick chats over the phone or video before diving into more in-depth interviews.

These will usually be with a member of our Talent Acquisition (TA) team and then with the hiring manager. These chats are designed to discuss your qualifications and we can tell you more about the team and what we, as an organization, are moving towards.

If you need an accommodation related to the interview process, please speak with our TA team.

3. Interviews

The next stage is 3-4 interviews in one day with different peers across the functions and organization over video, to give you a better understanding of our culture and organization.

Ultimately, we want to be able to assess your skills and see if you and this role are a resounding fit.

4. Onsite / Presentation

At this step, we sometimes ask candidates to complete a take-home project prior to this round.

This could range from a case study, to a 30-60-90 day plan summary, code samples, mock presentations or sales pitches, and these help us understand your approach to problem-solving and your way of thinking.

We’ll provide you with any additional info and contact information that you may need early on to make this step a success.

5. Decision and offer

We take into account a number of factors before coming to a decision, and if we decide that you’re the best person for the role, our TA team will reach out to you with an offer.

6. Welcome aboard!

After accepting the offer, the People Team will reach out to you with additional information with regards to the People-related administrative matters, as well as details for your first day.

You will be set up with the company tools required during this time to make your onboarding process a seamless experience.

Your onboarding process will be tailored to your functional needs and industry know-hows.

Interviewing at Nautilus

Look back at your past work experience

See any connections between the job description and CV? We recommend you prepare examples of connections you see between the job description and your CV.

While this may sound like something that is really obvious, sometimes it’s easy to forget our own wins and learning experiences during an interview. We want you to be confident and calm during the whole process.

Some of the questions you may encounter during the interview may be along the lines of:

  • How would you approach this situation…?
  • Tell me about a project that you handled from start to finish.

Familiarize yourself with our organization

Check out our website on the latest product offerings, our mission, our values, operating principles and our company history. You’ll be able to see the bigger picture and where you may be able to bring value to the team.

We want you to be confident in what you’ve done and what you aim to achieve with our organization.

We love questions!

An interview is a two-way conversation; if you have a question you would like answered during your research about our organization, feel free to ask away.

This not only shows you have done your due diligence, but it’s also a testament of showing you care about understanding how the organization and position can be a good fit for your career.

The day of your interview

It’s always good to check if your space is well-equipped to do the virtual interviews. Check what is necessary; your mic, your camera, and Wi-Fi to ensure that your interviews run smoothly.

Sometimes, nerves can also get the best of us, so it’s very important to collect your thoughts and breathe!

We appreciate you taking the time to chat with us, and want your conversations with our crew members to help answer some of your questions too.

All the best, and remember, have fun!
